JD (UK) continue to invest in staff of the future

JD (UK) is pleased to welcome Georgia Rigg into the team. Georgia is an apprentice and is studying for NVQ Business Administration Level 2. JD (UK) believes that apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce, and is a further commitment towards their continued investment in the local community. Stuart Bailey who oversees Georgia’s apprenticeship said: “JD (UK)’s Apprenticeships programme will provide the skilled workers we need for the future. Apprentices provide a business with fresh ideas and are a fantastic way to harness new talent.” Stuart continued “Our first apprentice Jordan Bentley, who is still with us and has turned into a valuable member of the team, left us in no doubt the apprenticeship scheme was a priceless way to recruit new staff and Georgia has carried this on. We at JDUK definitely think apprenticeships are the way forward and are currently looking for another apprentice to boost the team in the warehouse.” Georgia is well on her way to completing her qualification and looking forward to a long career at JDUK.

IN2 Access wins ‘Employer of the Year’ award Shropshire-based safety technology supplier and manufacturer, IN2 Access and Control Ltd., has won the first-ever Shrewsbury Colleges Group ‘Employer of the Year’ award. An awards ceremony was held recently at Shrewsbury College to celebrate the work of successful apprentices and local businesses closely supporting the College. ‘Employer of the Year’ award winners, IN2 Access and Control Ltd., have taken on a total of eight apprentices through the College in recent years. A panel of judges representing the College granted IN2 Access the award based on their continued commitment in providing multiple apprenticeship placements and the high-level of support given to those in training. “IN2 Access has offered full-time jobs to seven of their successful apprentices and the company’s three Directors see them as being key to the future success of the business” - James Staniforth, Principle and CEO - Shrewsbury Colleges Group. IN2 Access, who supplies products to the gate, barrier, industrial and pedestrian door markets, has committed itself to supporting local people wanting to develop new skills ranging from warehousing and production to

monitoring each individual’s progress. He attends all employer reviews and requests feedback after each assessment visit. “Mark is an enthusiastic, well-respected and committed leader – all staff in the organisation work hard thanks to his support. In turn, they are rewarded for their dedication.” The award comes at a time of significant growth for IN2 Access as they continue to recruit for several strategic appointments.
